Designed for Ascot
A small collection of hand crafted luxury residences unlike anything in Brisbane
Silk is a boutique bespoke project, consisting of just 12 unique apartments and a ground floor retail centre, perfectly positioned on the corner of Racecourse Road and Beatrice Terrace in the heart of Ascot Village.
Just ten minutes from Fortitude Valley and less than 15 minutes from the city centre, putting CBD offerings and nightlife within easy reach, Silk provides easy access to the airport, the Sunshine Coast and prestigious private and public schools. Silk will be the epicentre of a street rejuvenation that will improve on Ascot’s already vibrant boulevard, which provides seven-day-a-week eating options amidst the lush Poinciana trees that line the street and combine with shady canopies to provide a haven for pavement dining.
SILK’s architecture oozes confidence, with its strong lines and interplay of contrasting materials. Concrete, metal, glass, and stone are deftly combined to create a highly articulated façades with great street presence.
Care has been taken to integrate this bold new building with its streetscape. The sculptural free-form projections of the façade help to reduce its scale and reorient key rooms to the corner of Racecourse Road and Beatrice Terrace. Existing trees, a superb Jacaranda at the corner and a Poinciana on Racecourse Road, have been be retained. A street canopy over the footpath provides weather protection at ground level and draws people in towards the building.
SILK’s exciting, contemporary lines and airy brightness are an inspired expression of Brisbane’s unique sub-tropical lifestyle. Indoor and outdoor spaces are linked by expansive full-height glass. The interplay of finishes provide a touch of the unexpected, giving these apartments a unique sense of style
Life is meant for living, and at SILK every detail is designed for a luxe, laid-back lifestyle. Timber floors add a cool elegance. Kitchens are designed to be smart as well as functional with reconstituted stone bench tops and stainless steel Miele appliances. Large shaded balconies opening from living areas invite you to relax and entertain outdoors. Enjoy a sundowner while you take in the view over the tree tops.
From the track to the river, Racecourse Road is always abuzz. The lush Poinciana trees that line the street combine with shady canopies to provide a haven for pavement dining. Choose your breakfast spot – there are plenty of interesting options, seven days a week. Be tempted by coffee, home-made treats or real Italian-style gelato, or wander around the stylish shops for the latest in fashion and homewares.
